Government of Ireland scholarships for international students
The Higher Education Society proudly announced the government of ireland international scholarship program for dedicated students.
According to it,60 scholarships will be bestowed for one year of study in bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. courses to students who are eligible for the irish govt’s higher education institutional program.
The main objective of this GOI-IES program is to reflect Ireland’s engagement in target partner countries.
The program is applied in the higher education sector and is funded in collaboration between the Government and the higher education institutions (HEIs).
Scholarships will hold the value as prestigious awards showcasing the soul messages about Ireland as a centre of international education.
It is expected that with every scholarship receiver, awareness about Ireland will increase among many more potential students.
It is even valid for students from non-EU/EEA countries and involves all fields of study.
Successful students will receive:
- A stipend of some €10,000 for one year’s study
- Fee relief from all tuition and other registration costs at the higher education institution
The HEA will grant scholarship funds to the candidates(from the HEI that the student is a part of) amounting to €10,000 for one study year.
The main aim of this fund is to cover all student costs and living expenses. The scholarship may be for:
- the last year of an undergraduate program;
- one year of a trained master’s degree program or;
- one year of a research program (e.g. one year of a 2-year analysis master’s or a 3-4-year Ph.D. program).
➢ The government of ireland scholarship stipend will be directly paid to the host higher education institution (HEI) of the successful candidate in one amount of €10,000.
The HEI will then figure out a system to transfer the funds to the scholarship awardee.
➢ The HEI must provide a FULL fee waiver to the student for the scholarship year (i.e. tuition fee and registration charge are waived).
This is the least matching funding requirement that institutions will be directed to make to the scholarship system.
➢ It is assumed that a total of 60 scholarships will be financed by the irish govt in favour of international scholarships
